In Memoriam David Halberstam
I feel like I am, since occurred in the chest.
Yesterday, David Halberstam died in a car accident. He was 73
David Halberstam was a favorite of me. Even if I do not agree with what I read - and I’m sure he would have congratulated skepticism - he was also sentenced integration I could not help, but I enjoy myself .
When he - as in “the best and lightest”, “The Powers That Be”, “billing” and “The Fifties” - I looked forward to return to his books with a vertigo, was often fully synchronized with the material by hand.

A car accident is a brutal and unjust death, but he manages to Halberstam - a man chronicled (and was enmeshed) of the two main crucible of 60 years, the movement for civil rights and Vietnam - it is an end cruel, indeed. It should have passed in peace. I was fortunate to cross paths David Halberstam in Kramer’s Bookstore in Washington, DC, about 6 or 7 years. We were both trolling books shelves. Although I knew immediately it was, I was surprised to observe that nobody else appeared that the legendary writer with a few colleagues. I packed a copy of “The Best and brightest” and asked Mr. Halberstam for his autograph. I was impressed, as he was physically imposing, in time, a man in his mid 60 . He was a formidable man, in several respects. The only other car grams I heard about Joe DiMaggio.
