New Albany’s Zoeller to run for attorney general
INDIANAPOLIS - New Albany native Greg Zöller said today it plans to take for the Republican nomination for the Indiana Attorney General at the party to the Convention in June.

“It’s really the best position that a lawyer in this state might want,” said Zöller. “It’s not really a choice you are looking for, to run from one office to dust or bag as a springboard for some else. ”
Carter announced unexpectedly in the last month, it is not to try another term, which has led some Republicans to consider a bid.
Today, Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas said he planned for the appointment as well. Secretary of State Todd Rokita then said he would not seek the seat and would Costas.

Zöller, as a private attorney and as an assistant to former Vice President Dan Quayle, sought the Republican nomination for Attorney General in 1996, without success.
In 2000, he helped with his campaign and Carter then went to work in his office.
Costas said he spent six days doing “a lot of research on the soul” before deciding on the nomination.
Costas is a lawyer earlier. He did not have a democratic opposition, when he was elected to a second term as mayor of Valparaiso over the past year.
